Rotary Club of San Pablo City Kicks Off ‘Ngiti ng Pag-Asa’ Project for RY 2023-24

The Rotary Club of San Pablo City, under the visionary leadership of its Hope Creating President, Dr. Aloha Señido, is embarking on an exciting journey for the Rotary year 2023-24. The club had launched its much-anticipated project, “Ngiti ng Pag-Asa” (Smiles of Hope), marking the 7th year of their legacy initiative, “Ngiti San Pablo, Ngiti” (Smiles of San Pablo). This remarkable dental mission project has been an enduring beacon of hope in the community, having started as a global grant project and continuing to touch lives to this day.

A Legacy of Smiles

“Ngiti San Pablo, Ngiti” began its journey several years ago, and its impact has been nothing short of extraordinary. The project has consistently brought smiles to the faces of the people of San Pablo City, exemplifying the true spirit of Rotary service. Year after year, this initiative has strived to improve oral health and overall well-being in the community.

Beneficiary Spotlight: Placido Escudero Elementary School

For the 2023-24 Rotary year, the Placido Escudero Elementary School in Sta. Elena, San Pablo City, has been selected as one of the deserving beneficiaries of the “Ngiti ng Pag-Asa” project. With a target of 150 students, this school will receive an array of essential services that will significantly enhance their health and quality of life.

The Services Provided

  1. Food Giving/Feeding Program: Proper nutrition is the cornerstone of good health. The Rotary Club of San Pablo City understands the importance of this, and as part of the project, they will provide nutritious food to the students. This initiative not only addresses immediate hunger but also underscores the club’s commitment to long-term well-being.

  2. Toothbrush Drilling: Dental hygiene is a vital aspect of overall health. Through toothbrush drilling, the students will receive guidance on proper brushing techniques and the importance of regular dental care. This preventive measure will go a long way in reducing dental issues and ensuring beautiful, healthy smiles.

  3. Fluoride Application: Fluoride is known for its protective properties against tooth decay. The application of fluoride will provide an extra layer of defense for the children’s teeth, promoting long-lasting oral health.

  4. Nutrition Talk: Knowledge is power, and the City Nutrition Office will conduct a Nutrition Talk for the students. This session will educate them about the significance of a balanced diet and making healthy food choices. It’s an invaluable lesson that will stay with them throughout their lives.
