To aid in the effort to end the Covid 19 pandemic, Rotarians from the Rotary Club of San Pablo City, along with other Rotary clubs in the city, assisted in a series of Covid 19 Mega-Vaccinations from August to September 2021 in coordination with Dr. James Lee Ho and hosted by the LGU San Pablo City prominently the City health Office.
Rotarians contributed to the much-needed manpower for this event. The members controlled the flow of people from one station to the next because 1,500 to 2,000 people are being vaccinated daily serving the city of San Pablo’s priority categories namely:
Priority Eligible A | Priority Eligible B |
---|---|
A1. Workers in Frontline Health Services | B1. Teachers, Social Workers |
A2. All Senior Citizens | B2. Other Government Workers |
A3. Persons with Comorbidities | B3. Other Essential Workers |
Rotarians aided in the smooth operation and implementation. Our Rotarian Doctors assisted in the screening process prior to vaccination as well as monitoring for any untoward events following vaccination. Bottled water and snacks were provided by our members. This was one way the Rotary Club of San Pablo City helped during the health crisis and at the same time contributing to its Disease Prevention and Treatment Campaign.
The Rotary Club of San Pablo City being its mother club was joined by its siblings, the RC San Pablo-Silangan and RC San Pablo-South. They both join hand-in-hand to provide the basic service being requested by the local government to fast-tract the vaccination process. The Covid-19 vaccine that were made available and distributed were the Astra Seneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Sinovac.
Rotary is taking action in response to the pandemic as our clubs support COVID-19 vaccination and continued prevention efforts around the world.
To protect the residents of San Pablo City from Covid 19, vaccination is the best and quickest way possible, with simultaneous massive vaccination at three major sites. This will also necessitate the use of human resources. Dr. James Lee Ho, San Pablo City’s City Health Officer, invited all socio-civic groups, professional organizations, colleges, teachers, and other relevant groups to a meeting to discuss this project. San Pablo City Rotary Clubs volunteered to staff the San Pablo Convention Center during vaccination days.
